China Plans To Send Astronauts To The Moon By 2030

Regarding the issue, the head of the authority said in a press interview: “We are making good progress in addressing issues related to the implementation of the manned lunar missions program, and according to the established timetables, we are supposed to send the first Chinese astronauts to the moon by 2030.”

He added: “We have practically finished developing the prototypes of the Long March-10 rocket, the Mengzhou spacecraft, the landing and service modules, the exploratory vehicle, and many equipment that will be used in the Chinese mission to explore the moon.”

Russia continues to cooperate closely with China in the space sector, as on June 12 last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law ratifying an agreement with the Chinese government to establish the International Lunar Scientific Station. The project represents a complex of remotely controlled experimental research facilities and is expected to be completed by 2028.

Within the framework of the project, China is scheduled to send the Chang’e‑6, Chang’e‑7 and Chang’e‑8 vehicles to the Moon, while Russia will launch several vehicles into the lunar orbit and others to explore its surface.
