Kamala Harris‘ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff flaunted her toned figure in a see-through lacy dress as she attended the WSJ. Magazine 2025 Innovator Awards on Wednesday.

The budding fashion star, 26, left very little to imagination as she hit the red carpet at the event in a sheer, black gown.

She donned some black underwear underneath the revealing number but did not wear a bra, with the lace pattern carefully covering her assets.

She completed the look with some black, bowed flats and left her short brown locks loose.

Her numerous arm tattoos were on full display.

The artist – who is the daughter of the Vice President’s husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoffand his first wife, Kerstin – skyrocketed into fashion fame after she wore a dazzling Miu Miu coat and a custom Batsheva dress to President Joe Biden‘s inauguration back in January 2021.

She completely stole the show with the eye-catching look and became an online sensation almost immediately.

After catching the world’s attention with the ensemble, Emhoff signed with modeling agency IMG, released her very own knitwear collection and scored an invite to the Met Gala.

She has also posed for well-known magazines like Vanity Fair and Vogue, and walked in shows for big brands like Balenciaga and Proenza Schouler.

On top of all that, she was was also named a style ‘icon’ at the 2022 Harper’s Bazaar Icons & Bloomingdale’s 150th Anniversary party. And according to Emhoff, she never expected to become a star.

She told People magazine at the time that she was ‘shocked’ but ‘incredibly honored’ to have been given the title, especially since she admitted she still didn’t think of herself as a professional model.

‘It’s kind of shocking,’ she said. ‘This is an incredible honor and as someone who doesn’t really think of herself like that it’s nice reassurance.

‘And it makes me check myself and the way I perceive myself… So exciting. I’m so grateful.

‘For some reason, I feel like I’m seeing myself from the outside. It’s a very interesting experience that I will never forget. I feel like every day it sinks in a little more. It’s a slow process.’

According to the star, who has become known for wearing out-of-the-ordinary looks including funky patterns and bright colors, she never thought she’d come so far in the fashion industry because she was plagued with insecurities as a teen.

‘Growing up, I never saw myself as someone stylish, at all,’ she admitted to Elle. ‘Obviously, I loved fashion and cared a lot about it.

‘But I was really into doing my own thing and being really comfortable in my own body, you know? I never saw myself as a “fashion person.” And I don’t know if my classmates did either.’

Emhoff received some backlash when she walked on Prabal Gurung’s catwalk at New York Fashion Week in 2022, and bared her breasts for the entire audience to see.

She has also gained a lot of attention online for some of her other radical moves – including not covering up her tattoos or shaving her armpit hair, which is uncommon for models.

Back in August, she was blasted online for complaining about her ‘climate anxiety’ while still using plastic bags.

In a video shared to TikTok, she reflected on how the past four years – and her stepmother’s election loss – have sharpened her focus on the world around her.

Environmental change, she noted, stood out as a major driver of the torment she’s been experiencing.

‘I think everything with the environment is really… f***ing getting to me,’ Emhoff said in her video.

‘I experience a lot of climate anxiety,’ she added with an uneasy laugh. ‘Like I think a lot of us do.’

But her comments sparked a wave of backlash and accusations of hypocrisy, as she had been seen happily holding a plastic bag just the day before – a detail made all the more striking given her stepmother’s previous push to ban single-use plastics.

Harris first endorsed banning plastic straws during her failed presidential campaign, at a climate change town hall meeting with CNN in September 2019.
