The French capital has long been known as the ‘city of love’ but lately, the spark seems to be fading.

In a viral TikTok clip, which has taken social media by storm, the riverside bank is home to a variety of staged areas to allow for multiple simultaneous proposals.

Most had near identical decor and color schemes – complete with elaborate floral arrangements, luminescent ‘marry me’ signs and rolled out red carpets.

The camera panned across the scene where no less than five grooms-to-be were all popping the question at the same time, practically inches from each other.

Barstool Sports poked fun at the scene after reposting the video alongside a caption that read: ‘Looks like everyone proposes here in Paris.’

And other viewers were quick to take issue with the ‘industrial’ proposal line.

‘Next client please,’ one wrote of the apparent revolving door of couples that left the special occasion lacking ‘individual meaning.’

‘How original,’ another scathed sarcastically.

‘This s**t cannot be real,’ one wrote, as another simply added: ‘Yikes.’

Someone else lamented: ‘The entire cycle of marriage from proposal all the way to the divorce has been so over commercialized.’

‘Oh my god, awkward if one says no,’ another quipped.

‘It’s giving engagement brothel,’ one critic wrote before someone else mocked: ‘Nothing says “I love you” like a marriage on a conveyor belt.’

Paris is a popular hotspot for couples getting engaged.

The Eiffel Tower sees an astounding 7,000 to 10,000 marriage proposals each year, according to wedding blog With Joy.

It comes after a romance concierge spoke to the Daily Mail about the best way to propose on holiday – as well as the biggest mistake people make.

A marriage proposal is widely considered one of the most magical moments of a person’s life.
