Starbucks is starting to feel merry and bright.
The coffee chain revealed its highly-anticipated holiday cup designs, which will be available starting Thursday, Nov. 6.
There are six cups this year, all of which are classic red and dark green colors and are inspired by Christmas elements and coffeehouse features.
There are two Coffeehouse Plaid designs made for hot drinks, one that is primarily red and one that is primarily green. The pattern on both iterations mirrors the plaid holiday pattern that “dates back centuries,” according to a press release. The coffeehouse also suggests that the design is like holiday pajamas.

The remaining four holiday cups are all in the Merry Apron Strings design. Two of the ribbon-like designs are for hot beverages and the others are for iced drinks, but all of them have the same Starbucks references.
The green Merry Apron Strings cups, both iced and hot, are inspired by the aprons that baristas wear year round. Plus, the twirls on the cup are also inspired by the garlands and velvet ribbons that the coffee shops hang up for the holidays.

Meanwhile, the red Merry Apron hot and iced cups symbolize the seasonal shift that baristas make in switching to red aprons for the end of the year.
All six cups have a gift tag where baristas can write a message to customers.
Thursday also marks the first day for fans to order from the holiday menu. This year, Starbucks is only offering returning drinks like the Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Iced Sugar Cookie Latte and Iced Gingerbread Chai for the start of the holiday menu season. Later this year, fan-favorites like the Chestnut Praline Latte and Eggnog Latte will arrive.
Plus, beloved food items like the Snowman Cookie, Cranberry Bliss Bar and Sugar Plum Cheese Danish are arriving along with two new treats: the Polar Bear Cake Pop and Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread.
On Thursday, Nov. 13, exactly one week after the holiday cups and menu land, Starbucks will hold its annual Red Cup Day — which offers a reusable holiday cup with the purchase of any handcrafted holiday drink.
