On September 27, the Goop founder got all dressed up for her birthday festivities in Portofino, Italy. She looked ready to celebrate in a classy pussy-bow blouse (which Kate Middleton wore earlier this fall), a sumptuous zip-up sweater, and some cropped wide-leg pants.

And because a pair of heels would be totally impractical for the cobblestone streets, she completed the look with some preppy penny loafers — which are a “true classic making a comeback,” according to stylist Cynthia Kennedy. Plus, they “instantly make jeans or trousers look polished without sacrificing comfort,” she previously told PEOPLE.
