How I Scored 20,000 Woolworths Rewards Points In One $22 Shop
A Sydney woman has revealed how she managed to earn 20,000 Everyday Rewards points while spending only $22 on a recent shop at Woolworths.
Her points windfall was thanks to the loyalty program’s current yet little-known Shop & Scan to Win promotion, which kicked off on November 5.
Until December 2, shoppers who purchase items from participating brands can win a share of $3million worth of prizes, ranging from up to 20,000 Everyday Rewards points or up to $100 off their next shop.
Members go into the running to win instantly after shopping in-store at a Woolworths Supermarket or Metro and scanning their rewards card. They are then notified on the spot at the register if they’re a winner.
Sharing her win to a Facebook page, the woman explained she’d popped into her local store to pick up a few packets of Ritz crackers and some lemonade – only to walk away with the biggest points prize on offer.
‘Winner winner this morning at Woolies,’ she wrote in her Facebook post. ‘Spent $22, swiped Everyday Rewards card. Won 20,000 rewards points and $100 off another future shop!!!’
‘For a $22 shop to get those rewards was a shock,’ she added.
A screenshot of the Aussie mum’s Everyday Rewards account confirmed she had indeed received the mammoth amount of points from a single transaction.

Other Woolies shoppers were quick to congratulate her, with one mum asking how long it took for the points to appear in her account. The winner replied that it was ‘instantaneous’.
‘Awesome, enjoy the rewards… I’ve never won extra points but I can only hope it might happen,’ added another hopeful Woolworths customer.
The Shop & Scan to Win promotion offers two kinds of prizes: either instant money off your shop or bonus Everyday Rewards points. Money off prizes come in amounts of $10, $25, $50 or $100 and must be redeemed in-store before February 24 next year.
The bonus points can be won in increments of 2,000, 5,000, 10,000, or the top prize of 20,000 points – which the woman recently scored.
The promotion includes 27 participating brands, ranging from snack brands like Cadbury, Cobs, Arnott’s, Oreo and Ritz, to beverage brands such as Cocobella, Mount Franklin Lightly Sparkling, Coca-Cola, Monster Energy, Moccona and Remedy.
Baby brand Huggies is part of the offer, as are cleaning product brands Vanish and Finish.
Other pantry and frozen staple food brands participating include D’Orsogna, Old El Paso, Kellogg’s, Macro Wholefoods Market, Four’N’Twenty and Inghams.
Select dairy brands like Farmer’s Union, Devondale, Dare, Paul’s Plus+ Protein and Flora are also included, and even buys from beauty brands MCoBeauty and Dove give shoppers a chance to win.

Everyday Rewards Managing Director Hannah Ross said it was ‘the first time’ such a promotion has run
To be eligible for the promotion, you need to have a registered Everyday Rewards Card and it needs to remain valid throughout the promotion period.
It’s important to note that Shop & Scan to Win 2025 is an in-store only competition and is not available for online shopping orders.
Everyday Rewards Managing Director Hannah Ross said they were ‘delighted to launch Shop, Scan & Win just in time for Christmas’.
‘This is the first time we’ve run a promotion like this and we hope it brings a little cheer at the checkout.’
‘Getting a chance to win up to $100 off your next shop will no doubt bring moments of joy to our members at the checkout – particularly as they prepare for the Christmas season ahead.’
