This weekend, iconic actor Jim Carrey appeared at the 2025 Induction at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to induct their honorees – but it was his youthful visage that seemed to catch fans by surprise.

Carrey, 63, has always been known by the public for his good looks, as he’s starred in many classic movies throughout the years, such as Bruce Almighty in 2003 and The Truman Show in 1998.

In 1994, he was even a frontrunner for People’s ‘Sexiest Man of the Year’ award, as it was between Carrey, Keanu Reaves, and Hugh Grant. Reaves ended up taking the award home that year.

But comments about his appearance sparked once again this weekend, as fans online wondered if there were any cosmetic changes he may have made to his face.

‘I wouldn’t think that was Jim Carrey if I walked by him on the street,’ one person admitted on X (formerly Twitter).

‘That doesn’t look like Jim,’ another typed.

Someone else wondered, ‘Did Jim get work done to his face? Hopefully its just some Botox.’

Other users even compared his new look to that of former boxer and actor Mickey Rourke.

So, what is really going on behind Carrey’s new look?

According to Oregon-based plastic surgeonDr. Sean McNally,who has not treated or examined the Hollywood actor, Carrey may have had an upper blepharoplasty and Botox injections after looking at pictures of the actor.

‘In older pictures, he has excess upper eyelid skin. This can be addressed with upper blepharoplasty or brow lift,’ Dr. McNally told Daily Mail exclusively.

‘In his case, I think he had an upper bleph since his brow position isn’t significantly changed nor is his hairline, which is typically moved back with a brow lift,’ he explained.

The doctor believes that the ‘biggest change’ that he noticed in Carrey’s face was around his eyes.

‘The biggest change is around the eyes for me. I’m very suspicious of how amazing his jawline looks at his age, but I can’t find a time where his jawline didn’t look amazing to be able to point out work in that area,’ Dr. McNally said.

Dr. McNally also suspects that Carrey could be utilizing Botox injections, especially in his forehead area.

‘At his age, I’d expect deepened wrinkles in the forehead, so I expect that he’s utilizing Botox,’ the doctor said.

‘They probably just keep his dosage low to keep his expressions strong, which is an important part of his appeal,’ he shared.

But his skin may also be looking young due to a strict skincare routine, the doctor suggested.

Dr. McNally noticed that the actor’s ‘skin texture and tone’ is ‘excellent.’

‘At bare minimum, I suspect he’s using a solid skin care routine, but likely has been maintaining his skin to avoid pigment issues with either IPL or laser treatments,’ Dr. McNally told Daily Mail.

Daily Mail reached out to Carrey’s reps for comment.

In the past, Carrey has not publicly spoken about plastic surgery or cosmetic injections – but in 2003, he did play a prank on the public while attending The Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles.

He showed up to the show’s red carpet wrapped in bandages after rumors were floating around that he had gone under the knife, according to CBS News.

Carrey even added a pair of black sunglasses as a hilarious touch.

His appearance at this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony came as he reunited with Taylor Momsen 25 years after they starred together in How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

It marks the first time the stars have seen each other since working together on their hit movie, which came out in November 2000.

‘We haven’t seen each other since The Grinch,’ Jim told reporters, before Taylor added, ‘Yeah, it’s been 25 years. This is insane.’

Jim played the Grinch and Taylor played Cindy Lou Who in the classic film, which was one of the then-child star’s first-ever roles.
