Bridesmaid Rushed To Hospital After Suffering Freak Accident During Wedding Reception

A bridesmaid had to be rushed to hospital after suffering from a freak accident during the wedding reception.

Hannah Buresh, 25, was in the bridal party at her best friend’s wedding in Texas last month when disaster struck.

The new mom initially took to the dance floor after the bride, Rachel Smith, asked her to ‘get the dance floor going,’ per People.

She began by performing ‘the worm’ a handful of times before Buresh and her husband decided to attempt an impressive, overhead dance lift.

But it was during the signature move that she slipped from her husband’s grasp and plunged to the floor – slamming her head, neck, collarbone and wrist on the ground.

‘I just went down,’ she told the outlet. ‘I remember thinking, “Don’t put your hands out because you’ll break both your arms. Tuck your head.” Then I blacked out.’

Initially, Buresh, who has an MMA background, thoughtshe had dislocated her shoulder that could just ‘pop it back in place.’

But, after being rushed to hospital, she was told she had a broken clavicle and needed urgent orthopedic surgery to secure a plate and four screws.

She will need a follow up operation on her clavicle in about five months.

‘They said it’s a miracle I’m not paralyzed or worse… We’re looking at probably a year from now before I’m back to normal,’ Buresh confessed.

The moment was caught on camera and the clip, which was fittingly overlaid with the tune of Free Fallin’ by Tom Petty, has since been viewed than 34 million times.

Buresh was flooded with support from well-wishers as she shared that she is ‘very grateful’ to now be on the road to recovery.

Reflecting on the incident, she shared: ‘I was just bummed to be missing the wedding than anything.’

But she seems undeterred about dancing at future events, concluding: ‘I think everyone will have eyes on me, won’t let me do anything too crazy.

‘But always, it’s a dance party. That’s what you’ve got to do. You’ve got to go hard. Maybe no crazy stunts any .’

It is not the first instance of weddings going awry.

Earlier this year, one woman was left devastated after suffering a shock injury just five days before her wedding.

Taylor Imus, from Richland, Michigan, suffered every bride’s worst nightmare when she was accidentally struck in the face by a softball.

The 36-year-old’s eye started swelling up instantly with the skin turning black and blue from bruising.

Her miracle worker of a makeup artist and her beauty products were able to hide most of the bruising.
