Update “iPhone” Now.. Apple Launches IOS 26.2 To Modify A Controversial Design After A Wave Of Criticism

The update introduces a slider that allows you to modify the appearance of the digital watch, from almost complete transparency to a blurry appearance, with an additional option to choose a “solid” pattern instead of “glass”, to provide a clearer and comfortable display for the eye.

The Liquid Glass design, which Apple introduced with iOS 26 last September after it was announced at WWDC 2025, received mixed reactions. The design replaced traditional flat icons with dynamic, transparent icons that simulate a material that reflects and refracts its surroundings, distorting the background in a way that simulates the effect of glass in real time.

Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, described the design as “fantastic”, but many users expressed their dissatisfaction, considering that the design is difficult to use and causes visual fatigue. Some of them even described the application icons as tilted and making them feel dizzy.

iPhone users expressed their happiness at the ability to modify the lock screen transparency after installing iOS 26.2, as one of them wrote: “This is the first thing I did after the update – I modified the clock transparency.”

The iOS 26.2 update also comes with additional features, including alarms for the Reminders app, offline song lyrics in Apple Music, match score logos and AI-generated chapters in the Podcasts app, an additional layer of security when using AirDrop, bug fixes and security updates.

Apple provides the update automatically if the automatic updates feature is enabled, or it can be installed manually through the “Settings” application. The company also released it for its range of other devices, including Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro.
