Millie Bobby Brown fans have slammed Jake Bongiovi for not protecting his wife and daughter after they were hounded by paparazzi.

In a video shared online, Brown, 21, is seen stepping out of a car holding her baby in her arms while being swarmed by photographers desperate for a snap.

In theclipwhich is believed to be taken recently by a fan in Londonthe Stranger Things star immediately shielded her daughter from the crowds, looking furiously at those gathered as she made a beeline for the building.

While Brown has been praised for her speedy response to the situation, her husband has been criticized by fans for not helping deal with the photographers.

‘Divorce baby divorce,’ declared one user in response.

‘I needed Bon Jovi Jnr to do a bit here sorry. At least walk beside her and your baby, maybe put your arms out as a shield, not just casually stroll along behind. Well done mama Millie!’ praised another.

‘Yeah, he needs to bring some Tom Holland energy to this sort of thing, it’s ridiculous to see how little urgency he demonstrated when strangers were little inches from his child,’ a third wrote, in reference to Holland’s often fierce protection of fiancee Zendaya.

‘He’s not even carrying the diaper bag,’ one appalled commenter pointed out. ‘Noah (her costar) is. He seems to make her very happy so I won’t extrapolate off a single clip… but dang, at minimum the Dad Radar needs some tuning.’

One user initially said they did not recognize Brown’s husband standing behind her, but the fact he didn’t step in to shield them ‘makes this worse, not better.’

Another agreed, writing: ‘At first I thought she was walking alone, but then I saw him walking behind her doing absolutely nothing.’

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives of Brown and Bongiovi for comment.

The Stranger Things star and the son of rock legend Bon Jovi tied the knot in May last year.

Despite what fans have said about Bongiovi, Brown recently gushed over her husband’s parenting skills.

‘We are 50-50 on everything,’ she told British Vogue for their December issue. ‘That’s why I’m so grateful to have partnered with him in this life – he is just the most amazing dad.’

In August, the couple surprised the world when they announced they had adopted a baby girl in a social media post.

Brown has dropped hints in the past she wants a large family.

Earlier this year, she said she wanted to be a mother during an appearance on the Smartless podcast, which is hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, saying that although she knows she is ‘really young,’ she is looking forward to motherhood.

‘My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19. And you know, it’s been my thing since before I met Jake,’ she explained.

‘Since I was a baby… I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me. And my nan, my grandmother is, she was a huge part of my life.

‘And so, yeah, I mean, Jake knows how important it is to me and, of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family for me personally,’ Millie continued.

‘It’s a huge thing. Jake was like, we cannot do that until we get married. So that was his thing.’

Brown then added: ‘And my thing was, I really want a family. I really want a big family.

‘I’m one of four. He’s one of four. So, it is definitely in our future, but, for me, I don’t see having your own child, you know, as really any different (from) adopting.’

She went on to say: ‘My home is full of love for anyone and anything, and so that is what we kind of stand by, Jake and I, our energy in the house is ‘the door is always open’, and we want everyone to feel really comfortable.’

Announcing their new arrival in August, the actress wrote: ‘This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption.’

‘We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were three. Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi.’
