Russias Amur University Launches Its Third Satellite Into Space Before The End Of The Year

This is from the Russian Vostochny Space Airport, within the “Universat” program of the Roscosmos Foundation to launch small CubeSat satellites.

The new satellite is equipped with the “Meridian-Amor” instrument, which is designed to monitor contamination of satellite surfaces due to the accumulation of sublimated films that affect the performance of optical components. This device will allow the identification of materials most affected by the space environment, and the technology is scheduled to be used in the future in a Russian-Belarusian satellite project.

The moon was also equipped with a propulsion engine based on a pulsed plasma engine developed by the Moscow Aviation Institute, which will help correct the direction and extend the life of the moon or remove it from orbit to avoid turning into space debris through burning in the atmosphere.

University students previously developed two CubeSat satellites that were launched to test techniques for monitoring space and its effects on space electronics.
