HGTV Star Ben Napier Reveals Fate Of Home Town Spin-off After Suffering Devastating Tragedy

HGTV’s Ben Napier has shared a promising update after a huge property he had helped transform for a show on the network was ravaged by a fire.

The 42-year-old television star and wife Erin, 40, were left in a state of uncertainty in August after a massive blaze ripped through a hotel they had been helping to transform as part of a new program.

Erin broke the news of the fire in a post shared to Instagram in which she said: ‘We held each other and watched while the brave fire fighters from the Laurel Fire Department worked for hours to get it under control. Today feels like a funeral.’

Adding to the heartache, the fire had come just days after she and Ben had confirmed an HGTV show would soon air, documenting their work on the project.

Following the incident, Erin cast doubt that the project would ever see the light of day.

‘I don’t know what will happen next or if you’ll ever get to see this HGTV show now,’ she said at the time.

But, in a positive update, Ben has since confirmed that the episodes will premiere in 2026.

‘The episodes are going to air,’ he told USA Todayadding that it would likely be some time later in the new year.

While an exact date has not yet been given, the Napiers will be kicking off the new year with a new series of Home Town.

Premiering on January 4, the couple will be back on television screens reviving outdated homes and historical locations in their small town of Laurel, Mississippi.

‘In each hourlong episode, the Napiers will take on projects for new residents and longtime friends and neighbors, while exploring new design styles and navigating their busy family life,’ the synopsis teases.

‘This season, Ben and Erin makeover the maternity ward and waiting room of the local hospital, transform a house for Ben’s brother Jesse and his growing family and remodel a home for a newly engaged couple who plans to host their wedding there.’

The first episode of the new 16-part season will see the couple take on their largest Home Town overhaul yet to fix up one of Laurel’s most well-known abodes for the homeowner who has lived there for over five decades.

The gigantic transformation, which unfolds across two episodes, will bring much needed updates to the historic property, while preserving the house’s original features.
