After Xiaomi hinted last week at the imminent launch of its flagship phone, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, in China, the company has now officially revealed the exact launch date, along with the first look at the phone’s design and the color options it will be available in.

Xiaomi confirmed via a post on the Weibo platform that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra phone will be officially unveiled in China on December 25. The company also shared teaser images showing the phone’s back design and some external details.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra design and launch date revealed

The phone will come in three colors, including a completely new color called Starry Green, in addition to white and black. The teaser images confirm that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will include a triple rear camera system, as the series continues to focus on advanced photography capabilities.

The Starry Green version features a back with a special metallic touch, as Xiaomi explained that the back cover contains natural metal particles that give it a luxurious appearance and distinctive shine. The company also revealed that the phone will come with a flat screen, volume control buttons in a segmented design, and a thickness of 8.29 mm.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to run on the latest Qualcomm processors, which is Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5with a heavy emphasis on photography. Leaks indicate that the phone will offer a main camera with a 1-inch sensor, along with a 200-megapixel periscope lens, with new improvements to Leica lenses.
