Trump-supporting Actor Rob Schneider Slammed Over Claim Children’s Hospitals Did Not Exist When He Was A Kid

uaetodaynews.com — Trump-supporting actor Rob Schneider slammed over claim children’s hospitals did not exist when he was a kid
Actor and avid Donald Trump supporter Rob Schneider has been fiercely slammed online after he made a bizarre claim that there were no children’s hospitals when he was a kid… despite them originating in the 1800s.
Schneider, best known for his roles in Big Daddy, The Anima, The Hot Chick, Grown Ups and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, has continuously made headlines in recent years over his controversial comments on everything from the US election to the Covid-19 vaccine.
Most recently, the comedian, 61, found himself in hot water after he took to X, formerly Twitterto share a shocking assertion.
He alleged that there has been a rise in children’s illnesses as of late, while claiming that there were ‘no children’s hospitals’ when he was younger because they weren’t needed.
‘FYI… There were NO Children’s Hospitals when I was a kid. Because kids weren’t sick,’ he wrote.
The first children’s hospital opened in Philadelphia in 1855, and by the end of the 1800s there were dozens, per an essay published by the Journal of Pediatrics.
In addition, the infant mortality was higher in the 1970s, when Schneider was a child, than it is now.

The infant mortality rate in 1973, for example, when he was 10, was approximately 14.9 per 1,000 births, versus now it is 5.2 per 1,000 births.
Many people were quick to call Schneider out over his claim in the replies.
‘You grew up next to a children’s hospital that opened in 1912,’ one user fired back.
‘I love ya Rob, but I was a frequent flyer to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital back in the 1960s,’ another added.
‘The place has actually been around since 1883, founded by local women to care for sick and injured kids when no one else would.’
‘Delete this tweet. You are embarrassing yourself,’ urged someone else.
‘Rob, what you posted can be easily verified as false in less than 10 seconds with one google search,’ read a fourth tweet.
A fifth said, ‘Washed up actor to right wing brainrot strikes again.’

‘When Rob Schneider was a kid, both child and infant mortality rates in the US were far higher compared to now,’ a different user pointed out, while sharing graphs that depicted the child and infant mortality rate over the years.
Schneider has not shied away from showing his support for political figures such as Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and is heavily outspoken about his anti-vax views.
During an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail last year he claimed he had been ‘blacklisted’ from Hollywood over his controversial beliefs.
When asked if it felt like he’s been blacklisted, he replied: ‘Yes. Hollywood doesn’t want any controversy at all because they don’t make decisions based on what the best movie is, they make decisions on something much more arbitrary.
‘The decisions that the executives make is based on “what will delay my inevitable firing the longest?” and if they work with somebody like me who’s outspoken, they might get fired. So I understand it, but at the same time, I think people will come around.’
Schneider was a prominent cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1990 until 1994, during which he earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
After that he began starring in a slew of successful movies, particularly comedies.
Most recently, the father-of-three directed, produced and starred in the 2022 film Daddy Daughter Trip and had a small appearance in Happy Gilmore 2.
