Brittany Cartwright is breaking down her mommy makeover.

The reality personality — who first appeared on Vanderpump Rules and currently stars on The Valley — pulled back the curtain on her recent plastic surgery procedure over the weekend in the latest episode of her podcast, When Reality Hits with Brittany Cartwright.

Recorded just 10 days post-op after going under the knife with Dr. John Layke and Dr. Payman Danielpour of Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery GroupCartwright, 36, was in bright spirits, explaining that she was “so happy” about the results. “It’s something I wanted to do for me for a very long time,” she shared.

Contributing to her decision to go under the knife were comments made by Cartwright’s estranged husband Jax Taylor during their marriage. Those remarks, including one that she “looked like a tree trunk,” were discussed on The Valley.

“I did this for me. It was about my confidence,” said Cartwright. “I was torn down in my last relationship … and I had lost a lot of my confidence, so I really wanted to get my confidence back. I thought this was perfect timing. I think I deserved it and I really wanted to do it for myself. And I couldn’t be happier with my decision.”

“I really just did this as a confidence thing for me because I’m starting to feel so much better after everything I’ve been though through where I’m at,” she added. “And I wanted to feel as good on the outside as I feel on the inside and I thought that was very important for my mental health.”

So what exactly did Cartwright get done?

It started with abdominal reconstruction to correct changes Cartwright’s body experienced in the wake of her April 2021 birth to son Cruz Michael Cauchi.

“After having Cruz, I gained a lot of weight so I had a lot of stretch marks and I kind of had a shelf at the very bottom below my belly button that would not go away,” Cartwright said. “Even at my skinniest, I still had the stretch marks, I still had the shelf.”

That was because Cartwright had diastasis recti, a condition in which the two vertical muscles in the abdomen separate. “My abs were separated so at the top of my stomach… it was almost sticking out as far as my boobs were,” she said. “I hated that.”

The abdominal reconstruction corrected that for Cartwright. “What they did is they went in and they basically pulled all of my skin back from my stomach and they completely put everything back in place… like it was before,” she said. “I can already tell such a difference. I can look down and my stomach doesn’t stick out like it used to.”

Other procedures included liposuction around her back, sides and stomach “to help shape and get my body back to the way it was looking pre-baby.”

She also had a tummy tuck. “They took off a lot of the skin from underneath my belly button to right above my public bone and all the way across,” Cartwright said. “It’s crazy, all my stretch marks are gone and my stomach is completely flat. They moved my belly button up.”

Finally, Cartwright had her implants of 10 years removed and replaced with a smaller size. Breast tissue was removed and her breasts lifted, too, in order to achieve the look Cartwright desired.

“My boobs are perky, they are beautiful. I am so, so, so happy,” Cartwright said, noting that her breasts had gotten to a size F or E. “My boobs got humungous, I was so uncomfortable. After having Cruz and breastfeeding and then my weight fluctuating, they just got so big and they would not go down to the way they were when I first got them done.”

“I’m not sure exactly what size I’ll be, I’ll still be swollen for a while,” she continues. “I still wanted boobs,..so I’ll probably be like a full C, small D. But it is a huge difference and they look amazing.”

Recovery hasn’t been easy, Cartwright said — especially in the first three or four days, which were “terrible.”

“I couldn’t get out of bed. I had to have somebody stay the night with me 24-7. I would call them from the guest room, they had to lift me out of bed so I could go to the bathroom. I did not leave my upstairs bedroom for the entire first week.”

All of that was worth it in Cartwright’s eyes. “The pain is temporary but the surgery is life-changing,” she said. “I 100% think it is worth it. I would do it again.”

In fact, when she first saw the results for the first time at her post-op appointment on Wednesday, Oct. 8, she got emotional at the “drastic” change.

“I cried so much, happy tears. It was all happy tears whenever they took off the stomach wraps and showed me my boobs,” she said. “Yes, I have more stitches and stuff… but I know those are going to go away, and I know all the stuff I’m going to do to make those go away. I’m going to get laser treatments, I’m going to be using creams, to make sure that they are very minimal.”

“A lot of people on the internet are like, ‘Oh you took the easy way out, you could have worked out, you could have done this,’ ” added Cartwright. “Yes, whenever I work out and lose weight, I still look a lot smaller. But I still had diastasis recti, I still had stretch marks and I still had the shelf that I could not get rid of no matter what I did.”

Elsewhere in the podcast, the Bravo star said that she doesn’t plan on having any more kids right now, but feels confident after speaking to her doctor that if she does in the future, her mommy makeover won’t have a negative impact on her ability to conceive, carry or breastfeed.

“I’m just trying to wait and see where life takes me,” she said. “It’s not something I see happening in the next few years, so why should I wait any longer in getting my mommy makeover?”

“I just really wanted to feel good about myself naked,” she joked. “Getting dressed was so hard for me. The mental toll it took to leave my house and just not feeling confident, feeling like I didn’t fit into anything. It just was such a struggle for me… I just felt like this was the time to do it.”
