The UAE Displays A Smart Car To Instantly Detect Residency Violators At The “GITEX” Exhibition

uaetodaynews.com — The UAE displays a smart car to instantly detect residency violators at the “GITEX” exhibition

The Authority indicated that the vehicle project aims to support field inspection teams and enhance the efficiency of processing visa and residency violations in an immediate and safe manner, and reduce reliance on traditional inspection methods, while accelerating the response to emergency situations through automated analysis of situations.

The car is equipped with six high-resolution cameras that provide comprehensive coverage of its surroundings, with the ability to take pictures and analyze faces within a range of up to 10 metres, and to identify about 50 people within a few seconds by matching their eye print with the authority’s systems. The facial recognition system can also immediately identify wanted persons or violators of residency requirements, alert work teams to deal with them, and provide the ability to pay violations on site.

The car allows for eye fingerprint registration for residents from 15 years old, in a step to enhance field monitoring and reduce violations through smart technologies.

During the exhibition, the Authority presented a practical presentation of the car’s working mechanism, and explained that it is completely electric and environmentally friendly, with batteries that enable it to travel a distance of 680 km on a full charge. It is expected to enter active service in 2026.
