uaetodaynews.com — Moment Location, Location, Location couple break down in tears as offer on their dream home is accepted – after gruelling 10-month search to escape London

This is the moment a young couple broke down in tears on Location, Location, Location after an offer on their dream home was accepted, ending their desperate bid to escape London.

During the latest episode of Location Location LocationPhil Spencer, 55, successfully helped Dave and Kinga in their 10-month quest for a property in Leeds, where they hoped to find more space and be closer to family.

Before turning to Phil and his co-presenter, Kirstie Allsoppthe couple had had an offer fall through on another house and were pessimistic about their prospects of getting on the property ladder.

Last night, however, it was revealed their ‘gruelling’ search had ended. After deliberating between two properties – one offering ample floor space and a garden, and the other selling for a lower price – they eventually picked the bigger home.

Dave and Kinga put down an offer of £360,000, which was £10,000 below the asking price. Much to their delight, Phil clinched the deal for them.

In a heartwarming moment, Kinga was seen breaking down in tears and hugging her husband after she realised their search for their dream home was finally over.

The episode was filmed in two parts, beginning in June 2021, with a later segment revealing how the move had turned out two years down the line.

At the beginning of the show, Phil showed the couple two prospective properties to choose from.

The first was a 1950s four-bedroom semi-detached in Moortown costing £370,000, which was just shy of their £375,000 budget.

Their first impressions were positive; struck by the attractive exterior and spacious garden, Dave was quick to praise the house, noting that it was very similar to another property that they had almost bought.

As they walked through the door, they were greeted by a stunning open plan kitchen with a marble top island, and a spacious living room with plenty of natural light.

The house also had three double bedrooms on the first floor, a family bathroom, and a large fourth bedroom loft conversion.

Adding to its appeal, the house also had a rear garden with plenty of space for their young daughter, Lily, to run around in.

‘I love the kitchen, it’s really similar to the one we already looked out,’ Dave said, adding that the garden would be perfect for their daughter.

The couple seemed excited to move forward after the viewing, with a hopeful Phil declaring that it ‘could be the house that changes everything.’

However, the second property Phil showed them complicated their decision.

Presenters Phil and Kirstie showed them around a 1960s semi-detached three-bedroom house in Chapel Allerton, an area the couple liked.

Despite a slightly dated kitchen, two comfortable double bedrooms, a single for Lily, and a plentiful garden made the house an appealing prospect for the couple.

The real selling point, though, was the price; the house cost only £280,000 – a whopping £80,000 below their budget.

Its lower price made it highly sought-after, with Phil and Kirstie warning that a sale could be imminent and they would have to act fast.

But Dave wasn’t so keen, with the smaller bedrooms and less floor space leaving him questioning the choice. ‘I guess when you’re buying a house, it’s a tradeoff between different things, its a headscratcher,’ he said.

Although indecisive, Kinga admitted she was coming to the end of her tether with the house hunt, telling Phil she was ‘tired’ of searching and ready to settle down for good.

‘I feel a bit tired, especially after being out-bid and the last house falling through, I just think we’re finally ready to get it done,’ said the mother.

Eventually, they came to the decision to choose the first property in Moortown, picking a bigger space over a cheaper price tag.

Meeting again with Phil, the couple faced a tough bidding process. The property was on sale for £370,000, but Dave and Kinga wanted to start with an opening offer of £350,000.

After making the all-important call, all they could do next was anxiously wait but, fortunately, the agent quickly informed them that their bid was too low.

In a tense moment, Dave and Kinga then offered £360,000, with the condition that the property be taken off the market then and there.

Much to their relief, their offer was accepted.

‘You two just bought a house,’ Phil told them excitedly, the pair both erupting in overjoyed squeals.

In an emotional moment, the couple reached over to embrace, with Kinga breaking down in tears.

‘Wow, that’s amazing,’ she said, wiping tears from her eyes.

‘It’s a life-changing thing for us,’ Dave added.

Two years after securing the keys to their dream home, the couple has welcomed their second child, a baby boy named Teddy.

Phil caught up with the couple in May 2023, where they told the presenter they were delighted to be living in their dream home.

After moving into the property, they spent an additional £20,000 on renovations to perfect the house and prepare it for their son’s arrival.

‘It’s all come together very nicely and I think we’re very pleased with the final house,’ Kinga gushed.

Being able to give their daughter Lily a spacious bedroom and a garden to play in made the whole family happy.

Renovations to their own quarters meant the couple could enjoy well-deserved relaxation time after the children went to bed.

Their plans for the future didn’t stop there, though. Kinga said she was eager to improve the property’s insulation and install solar panels on the roof.

‘It’s definitely become a long-term house for us,’ she gushed, adding that there was great potential for them to refurbish it into their own space once the children were grown up and had moved out.

Kirstie remarked that she was delighted that the couple’s ‘gruelling’ 10 month search had come to a close, and that the couple were finally able to ease into family life.
