Why Tubi Horror Film Match Is Making People Sick With Its ‘repulsive’ Scenes: ‘Sickest Thing I’ve Ever Seen!’

Horror movies like The Monkey, Weapons, and 28 Years Later have scared the pants off moviegoers this year while also dominating the box office.
But the most shocking horror film out right now isn’t one that you can see in theatres.
The Tubi movie Match has become a sensation on social media since its release last week, drumming up equal parts praise and controversy through word of mouth.
One viewer dubbed it ‘the sickest movie I’ve ever seen’ while another jokingly called for the scriptwriter to be ‘arrested’.
The plot is simple enough, with Tubi’s synopsis reading, ‘After Paola is matched with a handsome online suitor, she arrives for a first date to discover a house full of dark and terrifying secrets.’
The trailer reveals a bit more, showing a petrified Paola trapped inside her date’s home, which appears to be filled with an assortment of unimaginable horrors.
One scene shows Paola lighting a match in the dark only to discover a woman’s bloody corpse staring back at her, while another scene shows her being stalked down a creepy hallway.
Social media hasn’t held back on the film, with one user writing, ‘Before y’all decide to get on dating apps, watch Match on Tubi.’

A second wrote, ‘Match on Tubi is probably one of the sickest movies I’ve ever seen besides Human Centipede.’
‘Watched Match on Tubi last night and that s**t was weird as f**k! I liked it,’ said another viewer.
Over on Reddit, one horror fan wrote, ‘Match is horrifying I can’t believe they showed those scenes.’
Meanwhile, a review from iHorror called it ‘the most repulsive movie you never knew existed’.
Match isn’t the only indie horror film scaring viewers right now.
The found footage movie Tinsman Road from director Robbie Banfitch has drummed up huge buzz on the festival circuit this year following a series of screenings.
The story follows a young man who goes searching for his missing sister in the backwoods of New Jersey.
Dream Central gave it four out of five stars, writing, ‘An impressive epic, Tinsman Road builds upon a typical found footage foundation to bring the subgenre to new heights with a deeply moving story about the unbreakable bonds of family, even in the face of true evil.’
One viewer called it ‘the sickest movie I’ve ever seen’ while another jokingly called for the scriptwriter to be ‘arrested’
Rue Morgue wrote that the two-hour film ‘rewards patience with unimaginable terror’.
Banfitch previously made waves with the arthouse horror hit The Outwaters.
Other horror films releasing soon include the Silent Night, Deadly Night remake, Predator: Badlandsand Return to Silent Hill.
Horror is also set to hit the small screen this month with It: Welcome to Derry.
And next year, fans will get the Friday the 13th prequel series Crystal Lake, which is being produced by A24 for the Peacock streaming service.
Linda Cardellini will play Jason’s mother, Pamela Voorhees.
Crystal Lake has been described as an ‘expanded prequel’ to the original film and will most likely dive into the backstory of Jason and Pamela Voorhees.
