Google indicated on its platforms to support users that it will launch a new feature called “Recovery Contacts,” through which the user will be able to choose trusted people from friends or family members to help him recover his Gmail account if it is suspended or blocked.

Google noted that this feature will be useful if the Gmail account holder forgets the password to access his account, or if another person uses the account, or if the account is blocked for other reasons. In this case, the account holder can easily recover his electronic account by writing to Google’s electronic support services, reporting his desire to recover the account, and sending trusted account data to his friends or relatives to confirm his identity.

As for the second feature announced by Google, it is “Sign in with Mobile Number,” and it allows users of smart phones and mobile devices to access Gmail accounts using the phone number, without the need to enter account passwords. Once the phone number is entered in this feature via the phone or smart device, all of his Gmail accounts linked to this number will appear to the user, and he will be able to Log in using his device’s PIN code or through his fingerprint if the device supports this technology.

To benefit from this feature, the user must enter the Gmail settings menu on his device, then the “Manage Google Accounts” option, then the “Security & sign-in” option, then the How you sign into Google option, and then enter his personal phone number.

Through this feature, Google aims to reduce reliance on passwords and replace them with safer means of accessing electronic accounts, especially with the development of means of hacking those accounts.
