Qualcomm officially unveiled its latest mid-range Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor, which comes with notable upgrades compared to the previous generation 6s Gen 3. The upgrades include improvements in the performance of the central processor (CPU) and graphics processor (GPU), along with support for screens with FHD+ resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate. In addition, it supports 5G networks with mmWave and sub-6GHz technologies and faster Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.

The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 (SM6435-AA) processor is manufactured on Samsung’s 4nm technology, and Qualcomm claims that it offers a 36% improvement in central processor (CPU) performance and 59% improvement in graphics performance (GPU) compared to the previous generation. The processor includes 8 Kryo cores divided into four performance cores with a frequency of up to 2.4 GHz and four efficiency cores with a frequency of 1.8 GHz to achieve a balance between power and power consumption.

The SD 6s Gen 4 GPU comes with support for HDR gaming, as well as compatibility with OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0 FP, and Vulkan 1.1. It also includes some Snapdragon Elite Gaming features dedicated to gaming, such as Variable Rate Shading (VRS) technology and the Game Quick Touch feature that reduces response time to improve the gaming experience. It also supports LPDDR5X RAM with a capacity of up to 12 GB and a frequency of 3200 MHz, in addition to UFS 3.1 internal storage.

On the cameras side, the processor comes with a Qualcomm Spectra ISP image processor that supports sensors with a resolution of up to 200 megapixels and 2K video recording at a rate of 30 frames per second. It also supports Snapdragon Sound technologies to improve sound quality and Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless connectivity, in addition to the Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ fast charging feature.
