uaetodaynews.com — The first official move from Al-Ahly of Egypt after Gradishar’s expulsion (video)
The match ended with Al-Ahly winning 1-0, qualifying for the group stage after having won the first leg with the same score, achieving an aggregate advantage of 2-0.
Today, Al-Ahly club submitted an official grievance to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), objecting to the arbitration decisions taken by Senegalese referee Issa Sy during the team’s match against Burundi’s Eagle Noir.
The text of the grievance stated that the referee committed several influential errors during the match, most notably the unjustified expulsion of the team’s striker, Nets Gradishar, in addition to ignoring the expulsion of one of the opposing team’s players, who clearly assaulted Al-Ahly defender Ahmed Ramadan Beckham, which forced the red team to complete the match with a numerical disadvantage for more than 75 minutes.
In its grievance, supported by documented video clips, Al-Ahly demanded that the player Gradishar not be suspended, stressing that the decision to expel him was not based on real facts or legal justifications, calling on the African Union to implement the principle of justice and ensure the integrity and success of African competitions.
Al-Ahly is scheduled to return to local competitions, where it will meet its counterpart, Petrojet, in the twelfth round of the Egyptian League, on Wednesday, October 29, at exactly eight o’clock in the evening, Cairo and Saudi time.
