Moving on to the cameras, both devices come with three rear cameras and a 13-megapixel front camera that supports auto focus. The Mate 80 uses a 50-megapixel primary camera with a variable f/1.4-4.0 aperture and a 1/1.28″ RYYB sensor. The second camera is 40 megapixels for wide-angle photography, and finally the third camera is 12 megapixels for 5.5X zoom.

The Mate 80 Pro phone uses the same primary and second cameras, but gets a better zoom camera. It has a resolution of 48 megapixels and provides 4x optical zoom with a much wider lens aperture of f/2.1. The camera system in both devices uses Huawei’s Red Maple processing chip to improve colors.

The devices run on HarmonyOS 6, which gets a sleek design language and new AI features. The Huawei Mate 80 series is available in four colors: blue, gold, white and black. The back is made of glass, while the side frame is made of aluminum.

The price of the Huawei Mate 80 starts at $600 for the 256/12 GB version, and the price reaches $700 for the highest 512/16 GB version. While Huawei Mate 80 Pro starts at $750 for the 256/12 GB version and reaches $999 for the 1000/16 GB version.
