Michelle Duggar has reunited with all nine of her daughters years after the family became fiercely fractured.

Michelle, 59, and her husband Jim Bob, 60, along with their 19 kids, were propelled into the spotlight after they starred in the TLC series 19 and Counting from 2008 to 2015, followed by its spinoff, Counting On, from 2015 to 2021.

The reality show documented the family-of-21’s day-to-day lives as members of the Christian group, The Institute in Basic Life Principle.

Created by shunned minister Bill Gothard, the organization contains a set of incredibly-strict rules that control almost every aspect of members’ lives – including who they should date and how they should dress.

In recent years, however, some members of the family had appeared to become estranged from their parents, and had spoken out against what they described as Michelle and Jim Bob’s ‘radical, cult-like’ religion.

Particularly, Jill Duggar has been open about the fact that her relationship with her parents had been strained, with her stating in January 2024 that she couldn’t remember the ‘last time’ she had seen her dad.

But despite past problems, the family appeared to come together for Christmas, as Duggar daughter Joy-Anna Forsyth shared a sweet set of clips with all eight of her sisters and her mom over the holidays.

In a shocking 2023 Amazon Prime documentary entitled Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, Jill railed against her parents and accused them of ‘taking advantage’ of her and her siblings by tricking them into signing contracts and forcing them to be take part in the family’s numerous reality shows against their will – without pay.

She also alleged that her dad took extreme measures to try to cover up brother Josh Duggar’s molestation of his own sisters – and recalled how she was forced to defend him on national television to prevent the family’s hit reality show from being canceled.

Josh was found guilty of possessing child pornography and sentenced to 12 years in prison back in 2019.

Jim Bob and Michelle branded the documentary as ‘derogatory and sensationalized’ in a statement on their website afterwards.

‘The recent “documentary” that talks about our family is sad because in it we see the media and those with ill intentions hurting people we love,’ they wrote.

‘This “documentary” paints so much and so many in a derogatory and sensationalized way because sadly that’s the direction of entertainment these days.’

They added that they ‘have always believed that the best chance to repair damaged relationships, or to reconcile differences, is through love in a private setting.’

‘We love every member of our family and will continue to do all we can to have a good relationship with each one,’ they continued.

Jill went on to release her own tome, called Counting The Cost, and in it, she shared even of her family’s secrets, claiming her dad ‘treated her worse’ than he ‘treated her pedophile brother.’

Jinger Duggar recently spoke about how ‘excited’ she was to spend Christmas with her family for the first time in nearly a decade on her podcast The Jinger & Jeremy Podcast, which she co-hosts with her husband, Jeremy Vuolo.

Jinger said that the reason she’d skipped out on celebrating Christmas with the Duggars was because she chooses to spend the holidays with Jeremy’s family instead, as it’s ‘the only time of year’ that they can all be together.

‘Throughout the years, we’ve decided, like, “OK, that’s going to be the time that we spend with the Vuolo family,”‘ she explained.

She insisted that the Duggar clan had no bad blood and were ‘always together’ and said they often travel from their home in Santa Clarita, California, to visit the Duggars in Arkansas.

‘We went back three times in one year for weddings,’ she said.

Like Jill, Jinger has been very outspoken about the ‘lasting’ trauma that growing up in a household run by a ‘cult-like’ religion had on her, and is no longer a member of IBLP.
