New York Comic Con 2025 is in full swing and this year’s costumes are wilder than ever before.
The four-day event, held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan, is the largest comics and pop culture event on the East Coast.
Cosplayers showed off their extravagant creativity as the first day of the culture convention got underway on Thursday.
One visitor, Sebastian, opted to wear a Chainsaw Man costume with the huge tool on his head.
Another cosplayer also decided to go for the fear factor as they dressed up as the terrifying ghost Samara Morgan from the 2002 film The Ring.
The fan wore a long jet-black wig and a long white nightgown for their look.
Valak from The Nun was the choice of attire for one guest, while another dressed as the terrifying antagonist, Pinhead from Hellraiser.
Others opted for less scary costumes.

Child Play family cosplayers were among those descending on the convention
One young cosplayer posed as Alastor the Radio Demon from the musical animated series, Hazbin Hotel.
They wore a long red coat, complete with a red wig and ears, and a black bow tie while their face was painted white.
Another painted her skin red as she got into character as Ruby of the Sea from Critical Role.
She completed her look with a dark red wig and curled horns poked out of her hair.
While another donned a red cape and huge white helmet to become Hornet from Hollow Knight, the mysterious princess-protector of Hallownest’s ruins.
‘NYCC is an event for fans where they can be unafraid to let their geek out,’ event organizers said.

This year’s New York Comic Con is due to take place over the next four days.
Guests of honor include Jurassic World actress Bryce Dallas Howard, X-Men Days of Future Past’s Elliot Page, His Dark Materials actor James McAvoy, and Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin.
The Matrix’s Laurence Fishburne is also among the star-studded celebrity guests of honor, as is Alien’s Sigourney Weaver, Barbie’s Simu Liu, and The Mandalorian’s Ming-Na Wen.
There are also photo op events with the likes of Martin Sheen, Ioan Gruffudd, and Simon Pegg.
Last year, 200,000 fans attended New York Comic Con.
