Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin has shocked fans with his age – with many fans left feeling old.

The youngster was catapulted into the spotlight as Lucas Sinclair in the hugely popular Netflix series when he was just 15.

Starring alongside Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzoand Noah snapCaleb would fast become an overnight sensation in the science fiction show from the Duffer Brothers.

Born on October 13, 2001, the actor is currently celebrating his 24th birthday.

Stunned social media users couldn’t believe that Caleb is all grown up and shared their shock.

Taking to X, formerly Twitterone exclaimed: ‘Can’t believe the Stranger Things kid’s 24 now, time moving like it’s on fast-forward while he’s out here aging like fine talent.’

‘How the hell is he almost in his mid-20s?’ asked another.

A third said: ‘He cannot be a year younger than me. I refuse.’

Another simply asked: ‘He’s 24?!’

‘Happy birthday to him, Netflix should be ashamed releasing seasons YEARS APART,’ added a fifth.

Caleb is set to reprise his role of Lucas for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, which is set to premiere with Volume 1 (episodes one to four) on November 26.

Volume 2 will follow on Christmas Day, with episodes five, six, and seven, while the Finale will air on New Year’s Eve.

Reflecting on his time on the show, Caleb described his experience as a ‘blessing.’

‘Genuinely,’ he said. ‘It’s truly insane of how long it’s been. It’s like 10 years I’ve been on the show.’

Recalling his last day on set, Caleb continued to ScreenRant that he ended up ‘bawling.’

‘Ten years of just love, laughter and sadness and peace,’ he said.

‘So, I was able to get all those feelings out.

‘But honestly, I just feel blessed and just happy to have these guys and been a part of just something so amazing, and that has touched a lot of people.’

Stranger Things premiered on Netflix in July 2016.

Fans of the series have been patiently waiting for the show’s final season for years, with the penultimate series airing all the way back in July 2022.
