The 12-time Grammy Award nominee, whose real name Trevor Tahiem Smith Jr, appeared on the ‘World of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Chocolate Factory’ float from Nickelodeon and Paramount, which was decorated with graffiti and giant pizza slices.
As the float moved through the crowds gathered to watch the 99th annual parade, Busta Rhymes danced and sang alongside life-sized Ninja Turtles.
The 53-year-old was enthusiastically performing alongside the characters but viewers were quick to notice he was having some difficulty keeping up with the speed of his song, leading them to believe he was lip-syncing.
Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitterto share their thoughts on the star’s show.
‘Busta Rhymes doing that one verse is funny enough but also lip syncing it for the parade is crazy,’ laughed one viewer.
‘Busta Rhymes can’t even keep up with the lip sync at Macy’s Parade,’ a second viewer chimed in.
‘I really am so grateful for Busta Rhymes lip synching on a float with the Ninja Turtles… this is what I need in life,’ a third fan said, while another commented: ‘Busta Rhymes lip syncing was a bad call.’

‘Where were you when the Busta Rhymes and the Ninja Turtles collab dropped on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade,’ one fan wrote.
‘Busta Rhymes: the official rapper of the holiday season,’ joked someone else.
‘Busta Rhymes TMNT float back around – that was the best one so far,’ an excited fan wrote.
‘This was actually just a Busta Rhymes concert interrupted by a parade,’ declared someone else.
Busta Rhymes was joined at the iconic parade by fellow R&B singers Lil Jon, Teyana Taylor, Ciara andKool & the Gang.

This year’s festivities boast 34 balloons and 28 floats – with new balloons such as Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story and Nintendo’s Super Mario.
Elsewhere, fans were thrilled to see Hoda Kotb back on their screens after leaving the Today Show in January.
The 61-year-old made a special appearance at NBC’s live TV coverage of the festivities, stepping back on camera with former co-anchors Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker.
The first ever Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade occurred in 1924 as a bid to promote the newly-opened toy department at Macy’s New York City store.
Macy’s employees marched through the streets of New York wearing vibrant costumes.
They enlisted professional bands, had floats pulled by horses and even borrowed live animals like elephants, monkeys, camels, tigers and bears from the Central Park Zoo.
A whopping 250,000 people attended the first year, and following its success, Macy’s decided it would become an annual tradition.
