Every week, Femail asks two singletons to report back from their blind date.

This week, it was Bianca and Carlos’s turn to see if they were a match.

Here’s what happened…

Dating Past?

I’ve had several long-term relationships and been proposed to a couple of times but never married. Actually, I’m happy on my own.

Pre-Date Nerves?

I freaked out a bit but the front-of-house guy at the restaurant reassured me.

First Impressions?

Physically, Carlos isn’t my usual type. There’s not a hint of bad boy about him. Immediately, I noticed he had clean teeth, manicured nails and great skin though. We had a big hug – it’s my usual hello etiquette.

Easy To Talk To?

Yes. I told Carlos I was in the mood for a few drinks as I’d had a heavy week at work. We disovered we both prefer animals to people. I laughed at his story about a recent visit to friends who’ve had a baby. He greeted their dog before cooing over their newborn – I’d do exactly the same, too.

Embarrassing Moments?

The bill was enormous. We blew our budget and Carlos was a real gent about paying the difference. I did offer to go halves but he wouldn’t hear of it. In fairness, I only had two small starters while he ordered steak.

Did Sparks Fly?

There were no sparks on my side of the table. But Carlos does have really big, attractive, tanned hands. I gave them a thorough inspection and told him he could be a hand model. When we said goodbye and exchanged a kiss (I think it was on the cheek) Carlos did comment, ‘I want more of that!’ But I had to rush to a friend’s party.

See him again?

As a friend. We swapped numbers but I didn’t reply to his text for two days. I’m hoping he recognises a brush-off when he sees one.

What do you think he thought of you?

That I am bubbly and friendly. He did say I’m a good conversationalist and look like Elizabeth Taylor. It was nice of him but just told me he really doesn’t have me figured out at all. Carlos needs someone more demure than me.

Would your friends like him?

They probably wouldn’t fancy him but they’d be positive.

Bianca’s verdict: 7/10

Dating Past?

I feel like I have been single for ever, but I have had two serious relationships (one I’m still friends with now).

Pre-Date Nerves?

None, I was excited.

First Impressions?

Bianca is an attractive woman and clearly has a good body (can I say that?). My first thought was: why is she single?

Easy To Talk To?

Bianca isn’t lost for words. She announced we were having cocktails first and then wine.

I was surprised she went for a bottle. I’d told her I stopped drinking at the start of the year and only had a glass very occasionally – it wasn’t very thoughtful of her.

She then told me about the three months she spent in India at the start of the year. She loves her female travelling companion so much she had told her, ‘If you had a penis, I’d marry you.’ The things she came out with blew my mind.

Embarrassing Moments?

Bianca knocked back most of the wine (I had a small glass to be sociable). When the bill arrived, it was horrendously over as a result of the wine she’d chosen – but she showed absolutely no interest in paying or contributing towards it.

Did Sparks Fly?

She told me how much she liked my hands and asked me to touch her thigh because she wanted me to appreciate her muscles. She kissed me on the lips when we left the restaurant which left me thinking, ‘Oh wow!’. It was a nice kiss.

See her again?

Maybe, if it was for an intimate encounter – Bianca is a beguiling woman.

What do you think she thought of you?

She paid me many compliments during the date. But then she talked about other well-known men she had dated which was a bit intimidating.

Would your family and friends like her?

I can’t imagine introducing her to my parents because she drinks so much. My best friend would doubtless say, ‘Are you sure about Bianca, Carlos?’

Carlos’s verdict?

Liked? She’s a sexy woman.

Regrets? No, despite the bill.
