Aldi Australia Brings Back Popular Item After It Was Discontinued: ‘I’m Crying’

uaetodaynews.com — Aldi Australia brings back popular item after it was discontinued: ‘I’m crying’

Aldi Australia shoppers are delighted after noticing a popular discontinued chocolate treat back in stores.

The Choceur Delightful Chocolate Waves range is back in-stores as part of Aldi‘s Christmas chocolate offering. The online listing confirmed the option of four flavour varieties: Milk Chocolate, Caramel, Hazelnut and Mint.

These thin and crisp milk chocolate slices are sprinkled with a light crunchy texture, making them the perfect little indulgence. Each 125g pack is $4.99.

Chocolate fans affectionately refer to them as the ‘Pringles chocolate’ – thanks to their thin, curved shape resembling the famous baked crisps.

An Aldi Australia spokesperson confirmed to Daily Mail that the seasonal product was back on shelves as part of their festive season buys.

The product was last made available in November 2024, with an Aldi Australia Facebook post at the time confirming the ‘crunchy’ and ‘sweet’ delight was available for a limited time only ‘until Christmas’.

This year, an Aussie woman was among the first to spot the return of Choceur Waves in-store.

Victorian local Donatella made the chocolate discovery on October 27 when she popped into her local Aldi store.

Aldi Australia shopper Donatella shared a TikTok video alerting customers that Choceur Delightful Chocolate Waves are back in stores

In a video posted to her @dj.wlsjourney account, Donatella referred to the popular treat by its ‘chocolate Pringles’ nickname

‘ALERT! I actually found the discontinued Aldi chocolate Pringles,’ Donatella captioned a TikTok post shared to her @dj.wlsjourney account.

Donatella added that she was genuinely stunned to see that ‘they’re back’ – adding a happy-crying emoji alongside her post.

‘I swear these were just a fever dream, who remembers these?!’ she added.

Fellow Aussie chocolate fans quickly replied to share their own joy over the return of the Aldi sweet treat.

‘Yesssssssssss I loved these,’ replied one person.

‘Those are good,’ agreed another.

In recent years, Aldi Australia shoppers have had to accept that Choceur Waves are only available during the final months of the year.

A Reddit post from several years prior saw a shopper asking if anyone could help locate the item, with a helpful Aldi customer explaining at the time that they were a ‘seasonal special buy’ and not stocked ‘outside of Christmas’ time.

Aldi Australia’s own Facebook post last year heralding the return of Choceur Waves also previously generated huge excitement.

‘OMG they are back,’ one woman enthused.

Another made note of the product’s availability only during festive season, joking that they planned to ‘buy them by the pallet’.

In a similar vein, one person light-heartedly claimed the hazelnut variety will be unavailable at their local Aldi store ‘because I probably ate them all’.

It’s not the first time that Aldi has recently delighted shoppers by bringing back a chocolate snack that was presumed to be no longer available.

Aldi fans were recently ecstatic about the budget supermarket quietly restocking Knoppers nut bars.

The chocolatey, crispy wafer snack features five layers of baked wafers, creamy milk filling, smooth hazelnut, crunchy roasted hazelnuts and a cocoa topping.

But when the cult status treat suddenly disappeared from shelves earlier this year, customers feared the worst.

In recent years, Aldi Australia shoppers have grown used to Choceur Waves appearing only in the final months of the year – but their arrival always sparks excitement among chocolate lovers.

In mid-October, following months of speculation and online pleas for answers, the Knoppers bars were officially back at Aldi.

One overjoyed shopper spotted the return and wasted no time in sharing the news online.

‘Guess who’s back. Straight in the trolley,’ they shared on Reddit.

Another fan admitted the bars are their guilty pleasure, confessing, ‘These are dangerous for me. They’re far too addictive, I can never stop at one.’

Another shopper summed up the mood for many, declaring, ‘Thank God. I thought they were gone forever.’

The return came after weeks of frustrated customers complaining on social media about the snack’s mysterious disappearance.

One shopper had earlier asked, ‘Has anyone seen the amazing crispy wafer snack that is a Knopper? We buy it every week at Aldi but for the last few they haven’t been in stock.’

But if history is anything to go by, Knoppers may not stick around for long.

When the product last hit shelves, shoppers reported stores selling out in hours, leaving disappointed customers staring at empty displays.

And with Aldi’s rotating ‘Special Buys’ often changing stock without warning, fans are already suggesting people should ‘grab them while you can.’

For now, though, the sweet relief is enough – and Aldi lovers are savouring every bite of the long-awaited return.
