About 2 Million American Cars Were Recalled Due To Safety Concerns

uaetodaynews.com — About 2 million American cars were recalled due to safety concerns

The recall has begun with 292,000 Ram ProMaster trucks from Chrysler, due to the possibility of the engine fan overheating due to wear of its parts, which increases the risk of fire. The new recall, which was issued on October 23, included about 291,664 vehicles from models 2018 to 2026. The company is currently working to solve the problem, and car owners are expected to receive letters from Ram in November.

As for Tesla, it issued two separate recalls this month covering more than 76,000 electric cars. On October 10, the company recalled 12,963 2025 Model 3 and 2026 Model Y vehicles due to possible failure of battery pack connectors, leading to a loss of traction. Five days later, Tesla recalled 63,619 Cybertruck trucks from the 2024 to 2026 models, as the drivers could cause the headlights to become excessively bright, obstructing the vision of other drivers, which violates the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS).

The latest recalls also include about 1,448,655 Ford and Lincoln vehicles between 2015 and 2020 due to problems with reversing cameras. Affected cars include:

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) indicated that images in reversing assist cameras may become blurry or completely black while reversing, and advised that the camera be replaced free of charge at Ford and Lincoln dealers.

Other recalls included:

  • 24,238 Jeep Wrangler 4XE (2023-2025) vehicles due to a software glitch affecting computer signals.

  • 22,914 Cadillac Optic (2025-2026) and Chevrolet Equinox Electric (2025-2026) vehicles were damaged due to poor tire rubber, increasing the risk of the tread peeling off and the vehicle sliding off the road. Agents will inspect and replace affected tires free of charge.

  • 13,000 2020 Ford Escape cars suffer from a rear brake failure, which may extend the time of stopping the car and increase the risk of accidents.

According to AutoInsurance.com, vehicle recalls have increased by about 10% year over year since 2015, mainly due to the increasing reliance on complex electronics, sensors and software in modern cars.
