John DeLuca was skyrocketed into the spotlight after he landed the role as Butchy in Teen Beach Movie back in 2013.

Now, 12 years on, the former Disney Channel teen heartthrob is unrecognizable.

The beloved Disney Channel Original Movie also starred Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell, Gracie Phipps, Garrett Clayton and Jordan Fisher.

It followed two young surfers who find themselves magically part of a movie musical and it was a massive success, transforming DeLuca into a sensation practically overnight.

But than a decade after he appeared in the musical rom-com, DeLuca looks very different.

The former Disney Channel star recently announced that he is gearing up to walk down the aisle with his girlfriend, Cassandra.

The actor, now 39, shared the news that they were engaged after he proposed on the beach in front of a stunning sunset late last month.

DeLuca took to Instagram on December 30 to share photos of the intimate moment he asked Cassandra to marry him, while reflecting on the rollercoaster-ride year he had.

One of the images showed him down on one knee and holding Cassandra’s hands on the beach with the sun setting behind them.

Another featured her showing her sparkling ring to the camera with a big smile on her face as DeLuca stood by her side.

Other snaps showed the couple hugging and embracing one another.

‘2025 has been the most important year of my life,’ he captioned the carousel of images. ‘It brought twists and turns than I could have ever imagined.

‘It also brought me you, @cassandratm – and for that I’m eternally grateful. I love you so much and I can wait to marry you.’

He thanked Massachusetts-based jewelry company Lorilil Jewelers for its ‘guidance with the ring.’

After that, he continued to act, starring in the show Twisted, coming of age comedy Staten Island Summer, ABC’s soap opera General Hospital and most recently, the flick Skillhouse

DeLuca previously described Cassandra as ‘the most beautiful human he knows’ in a gushing birthday tribute.

‘Happy birthday to the most beautiful human I know – inside and out,’ he wrote.

‘You’re my best friend, and even though you don’t like making a big deal about your birthday, you absolutely deserve to be celebrated. Thank you for being born.’

Before he was cast in Teen Beach Movie, DeLuca had a few guest roles in shows like Ugly Betty, 30 Rock, Wizards of Waverly Place and The Secret Life of the American Teenager.

But it was his role as Butchy, the leader of the biker gang, that really put him on the map. He reprised the role for the sequel Teen Beach 2 a few years later.

After that, he continued to act, starring in the show Twisted, coming of age comedy Staten Island Summer, ABC’s soap opera General Hospital, East Los High on Hulu, American Horror Story: 1984, the thriller Spree and most recently, the flick Skillhouse.
