A small robot stands inside the “Omeberto” hurricane and sends vital data

The project is developed by the National Agency for Oceanic and Air Country (NOAA) in cooperation with the British company “Ocean” and the University of South Mississippi, as part of the 2025 hurricane season research.

During the “Omiro” hurricane, three C-Stars robots entered the heart of the hurricane with a period of approximately 12 hours, one of which recorded an aerial pressure of 955 million and winds exceeding 241 km/hour, which confirmed his passage of the “eye” of the hurricane, which is the relative calm area in the storm.

The robots sent the data collected to the National Hurricane Center, then to the global meteorite network, to help study the dynamics of storms with unprecedented accuracy.

The project highlights a high efficiency in preparation and distribution, as two robots were transferred from Mississippi to the North Carolina coast one day before the hurricane, and they were equipped to work in less than 48 hours, which reflects the speed and flexibility of the research team in dealing with emergency weather conditions.
