If you’ve stepped into any high street store this season, you’ll have noticed an unexpected new animal print popping up everywhere. Deer print (also referred to as fawn or Bambi print) has fast become the look of the season – spotted on everything from coats to knitseven shoes.

Animal print in fashion is nothing new. Brands like Roberto Cavalli and Saint Laurent have been filling their collections with leopard and zebra print since the ‘60s and ‘70s. But in recent seasons, the style set have been looking to unusual animal prints in which to dress. This summer, for example, it was all about cow print, with M&S’ viral trucker jacket in the print an almost instant sell out. Deer print, however, has always felt relatively niche – until now.

Making an appearance on the AW25 runways at the likes of Brandon Maxwell and Tory Burch, as well as the Resort 25 collection at David Koma, it’s clear that this trend has staying power. But it’s not only reserved for the super-rich who can afford designer: H&M’s brown Bambi mini skirt co-ord has gone viral on Instagram, and Puma has just released an exclusive-to-Asos pair of Speedcat Doelettes in deer printed pony hair.

Similarly, a fluffy, deer print jacket in Gap’s recent collab with NYC based womenswear brand Sandy Liang is currently selling on resale sites for over double the price of its RRP, while fashion favourite Sophia Richie Grainge added a bomber in the print to the launch day lineup for her new SRG label.

We love that the print is a slightly subtle alternative to the ultra-glam leopard or zebra print alternatives. In soft shades of brown, it also lends itself perfectly to quiet luxury trend and can easily be worn with any other neutral pieces you have in your wardrobe.
