The Turkish Federation stated on its website that it was decided to suspend 149 referees and assistant referees for periods ranging from 8 to 12 months, indicating that investigations are continuing with 3 other referees.

The Haber Turk network reported that the Public Prosecution is also investigating a number of clubs and players, noting that about 3,700 football players are currently under scrutiny as part of the case.

The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office in Istanbul is leading the investigation into the case, while Turkey’s major football clubs expressed their shock at this information and accusations that shook the country’s game circles.

Earlier this week, allegations emerged against 152 match referees suspected of being involved in betting on matches.
