KFC Finally Launches ‘secret’ Menu Item Across Australia – But You’ll Have To Be Quick: ‘A Match Made In Heaven’

uaetodaynews.com — KFC finally launches ‘secret’ menu item across Australia – but you’ll have to be quick: ‘A match made in heaven’

KFC Australia has just unveiled a new menu item that fuses a beloved street food with one of their signature flavours – and food fans are already buzzing.

Launching nationwide from Tuesday, November 4, the fast food giant’s Zinger Bánh Mì is now joining menus across Australia for the first time.

Inspired by the classic Vietnamese baguette, KFC’s version puts a spicy spin on tradition.

A typical Bánh Mì features pâté, mayo, pork cold cuts, pickled carrots and radish, cucumber, coriander, fresh chillies and seasoning. But KFC’s take puts a twist on the iconic street food that’s been dubbed a ‘match made in heaven’.

The fast food chain’s Bánh Mì features a bread roll filled with a spicy Zinger fillet, vibrant slaw, fresh chillies and a drizzle of two special sauces – the new Bánh Mì mayo and KFC’s own ‘Supercharged’ sauce.

The reimagined roll is available at selected KFC restaurants, with prices starting at $9.95.

But fried chicken fans should move fast – it’s only around until December 1.

‘At KFC, we love putting our own spin on modern foods, and the Zinger Bánh Mì is our take on a much-loved icon,’ KFC Australia’s Group Marketing Director Sally Spriggs said.

The new menu item is a mash-up of the ultra light and fresh flavours of a classic Bánh Mì paired with that unmistakable Zinger heat, which the KFC spokesperson says is designed to tempt Aussie tastebuds.

‘It’s the perfect balance of spice, freshness and texture, a truly finger lickin’ good innovation while giving our fans another way to enjoy our famous Zinger,’ she said.

Earlier this year, whispers spread of the Zinger Bánh Mì appearing as a ‘secret’ KFC menu item.

But there was a catch – it was exclusive to just 10 select NSW locations and could only be ordered via the app.

Back in February, eagle-eyed diners spotted it quietly added to KFC’s online menu, with a lucky few managing to try it during the limited trial.

‘Shut up and take my money,’ one customer wrote after discovering the secret menu addition.

Quickly, it earned a cult following, with customers in and around Newcastle confirming at the time that the new menu item hit the spot.

‘Just tried KFC’s attempt at Banh Mi – it was bloody delicious,’ one person raved.

The new roll is priced starting from $9.95 and can also be purchased as part of a Combo Meal or a Box Meal

‘Had one for dinner. Was pretty tasty actually. Similar value to their burgers, but nice to have something different for a change,’ another confirmed.

Of course, not everyone was convinced by the twist. Some Vietnamese-Australians noted that it was missing key Bánh Mì ingredients.

‘If there’s no pâté, it’s not a Bánh Mì,’ one person argued.

Yet others were open-minded: ‘Who cares, I’m Vietnamese and I still want to try it!’

At the time, many were disappointed the trial was restricted to Newcastle. ‘Bring it to Sydney!’ one pleaded. ‘Bring it to Sydney!’ one pleaded.

‘I hate how it’s only at select outlets and not nationwide,’ raged another.

Their wishes have finally been answered, with the Zinger Bánh Mì now available for a whole month right across the country.

The roll can be enjoyed on its own, or as part of a Combo Meal with chips and a drink.

For those who are extra hungry there’s also the option of a Box Meal, which includes a Zinger Bánh Mì, two pieces of Hot & Crispy boneless, potato and gravy, chips and a can of drink.

And it’s easy to get your hands on the new tasty menu item, which can be purchased in-store, via drive-thru, or online through the KFC app.
