  • The actress and director also shares that she loves skincare “electronics” and, of course, BFF Jennifer Aniston’s hair care brand, LolaVie

Courteney Cox is expanding her brand.

The actor/director, who launched court with dish soap, hand wash, hand cream and surface cleaner in 2022, has introduced body care in her signature scent, Cece.

When Cece hit the scene alongside Cipres Mint, Neroli Leaf and Steeped Rose, the fragrance — a sweet and spicy scent with notes of cardamom, cedarwood smoke, cinnamon and leather — was described as her “secret blend, revealed.”

It was by far the most mysterious aroma because it was uniquely hers, she tells PEOPLE.

“I remember the first time I really fell in love with perfume, I was doing a movie with Hugh Grant and Mia Sara,” Cox recalls. (The movie in question was 1989’s Till We Meet Again.)

“Mia wore this perfume, Jour de Fete by L’Artisan Partemporel, andevery time she’d walk by, I thought, ‘That’s the most beautiful scent I’ve ever smelled,’” she says.

Cox, 61, would go on to wear the scent “for years and years.” When another friend wore something she also really liked, she layered the fragrances, and the rest was history.

“That’s when I started combining oils and perfumes to get something that’s personal to me,” she says. Eventually, she blended the scent that would be Cece.

“This is something I’ve worn for the last, maybe, 10 years,” she says of the scent.

And yet, it’s not just any scent. It’s the scent that helped build the home care brand, and now it’s available in a body wash, body butter, fragrance mist and perfume oil, too.

The body care regimen isn’t just new to Homecourt (she initially branched into it with Cocomoi in 2024; making this her second body care collection), having a body care routine is somewhat new to Cox, too.

While she’s always reaching for her hand cream, she says, “I think using body care didn’t start until I was much older. You spend a lot of time on your face. You wash your face, you use exfoliants, toners, serums and you put on masks and peels. And you really should start with your body at the same time that you care about your face because it catches up with you.”

These days she’s locked with her steps.

“When I take a shower, I use my body wash, either Cece or Cocomoi. Then I always use the body butter, which I think is so deliciously rich. It’s one of those things where you feel hydrated for hours and hours and hours after using it,” she says.

Next she applies the perfume oil, followed by the mist (“I love to put that on my clothes,” she says) and heads out the door.

Of course, she loves all of the launches, but if she had to choose two favorites (because we’re making her, okay?), she says they would be the body wash and the perfume oil, which she calls a “one-stop shop.”

Not only do you get the fragrance, but it’s housed in a “beautiful” glass bottle that’s small enough to fit in your purse, she says.

As for the rest of her routine, she’s up for “anything,” she says.

These days, Cox is really into red light therapy. “I have a LightStim panel, so I use that on my face and sometimes on my chest as well,” she says, adding, “I’m really open to any kind of electronics.”

Hair is a no-brainer: She uses BFF Jennifer Aniston’s LolaVie.

“I love her stuff,” Cox says. “I have her shampoo next to my body wash.” She continues, “It’s nice to have somebody (in your life) who does their own product line and it looks so well with yours.”

And, boy, was the design of Homecourt important to Cox. “It’s my thing,” she says.

As she created the brand during the COVID-19 pandemic, a bottle in her kitchen sparked a thought.

“I was looking at this square olive oil bottle on the counter, and I went, ‘That’s a cool shape. I wonder why no one has ever made a dish soap and a hand soap and a hand cream that actually stack together. That would be a good idea.”

Today, her packaging, which is made with 100% post-consumer recycled materials, does just that.

As for the color of the bottle, rather than solid black, Cox opted for one with a hint of green. “You can’t see it unless you put it in the light,” she says. “I just wanted it to be unique.”

She also put her spin on the labeling, because “I don’t like big labels,” she states.

“To me, it’s decoration,” she says of the finished product. “It’s beautiful, and, when it’s not on the counter, I feel like something’s missing.”

And if you’re wondering if she’s considered creating cleaning tools that are just as sleek, the answer is: Yes.

Meanwhile, the formulas speak for themselves. The body wash uses upcycled sugar beet extract to moisturize, and 100% plant-derived glucose “to improve skin softness and strengthen the skin barrier,” according to a release.

The body butter’s hero ingredient is organic rosella botanical extract, which hydrates skin “for up to 72 hours,” the release also states. But it also features MVPs Shea Butter and vitamin E.

Cox’s perfume oil is just that — created with naturally derived, skin-nourishing botanical oils, no alcohol whatsoever.

“There were things that had to happen with this brand,” she begins. “It had to be safe for people and pets. And, because I am like Monica (you know the one), it had to work.”
