Ariana Grande And Cynthia Erivo Suffer VERY Awkward Mishap On Wicked Red Carpet

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo suffered an awkward mishap on the red carpet at the Wicked: For Good London premiere on Monday.

The actresses certainly made a grand entrance at the event.

They stood behind a massive set of doors, which opened to reveal their stunning ensembles as fireworks accompanied by pink and green smoke – representing their characters Elphaba and Glinda – went off.

Holding hands, the women, both dressed in dark and dramatic dressesthen walked together through the doorway and onto a yellow brick road – a tribute, of course, to the pathway that Dorothy famously took in the Wizard of Oz.

But the dramatic moment was interrupted when the doors seemed to get stuck on the fake grass underneath, forcing them to only open part way.

This led to Grande’s enormous gown getting caught, forcing her to stop walking, let go of Erivo’s hand, and frantically pull on it until it came free.

Grande quickly recollected herself and put on a stoic face despite the annoying interruption.

The film, set for release on November 21, will mark the highly anticipated conclusion of the beloved tale of the famous two witches of Oz, and is based on the successful Broadway musical, which first premiered in 2003.

Touching on the movie’s darker tone, Grande and Erivo opted for sultry outfits at the London premiere.

The Dangerous Woman singer, 31, dazzled in a vintage black gown adorned with sequins from iconic costume designer Gilbert Adrian, who created outfits for The Wizard Of Oz in 1939.

Meanwhile Erivo, 38, was dressed in an edgy navy blue gown with PVC leather detailing, a belted waist and a bustier neckline, and jewelry from Roberto Coin.

Afterwards, Grande swapped her vintage gown for an eye-catching black dress with floral embellishments as she and her loved ones headed to one of London’s most prestigious eateries.

While much of the singer’s close family, including her parents Joan and Eddie and her brother Frankie, were in attendance for the meal, there was no sign of the star’s boyfriend Ethan Slater.

During the premiere, Grande and Slater also notably kept their distancewith the pair failing to pose for any pictures together.

It comes as rumors continued to swirl that their relationship is on the rocks.

In the wake of the speculation, Slater appeared to put the rumors to bed with a telling Instagram post over the weekend, following the release of NBC’s special Wicked: One Wonderful Night.

He shared a gallery of snaps from filming the special, and Grande was noticeably present.

One backstage image showed the actress and co-star Bowen Yang in a Wicked-themed photobooth.

Grande and Slater met on the set of Wicked back in 2022, and began dating the following year.

When news of their romance broke in July 2023, Grande had just split from her husband Dalton Gomez, while Slater was still married to his high school sweetheart Lilly Jay with whom he shared a then one-year-old son.
