Morning Joe co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski have revealed the secret to their long-standing marriage – just weeks after they clashed on-air during a debate about the current state of the Democratic Party.

The two have hosted the MSNBC morning show together for than a decade, and have been married since 2018.

The couple reportedly started dating in 2016, after Brzezinski divorced her first husband, Jim Hoffer; Scarborough divorced his first wife Susan Waren in 2013.

And now, in a new interview, the media powerhouses have revealed the relationship tip that keeps them so close.

‘We’re together 24/7, and that really works for us,’ Brzezinski told People this week about her marriage to Scarborough.

‘I guess, for some people, the strange thing is we love being together all the time,’ Scarborough added.

He explained that there is nobody who knows him as well as Brzezinski, as they’ve spent nearly every day together since 2007, when the show first aired.

‘Getting up at 4.30 in the morning, and getting shot out of a cannon at 6 and tap dancing for four hours, there’s literally nobody on the planet that understands what that’s like, except for the person that I’m with all the time,’ Scarborough told the outlet of his wife and their talk show. ‘She understands.’

Brzezinski told People that she believes their unconventional schedule has helped them have a closer relationship.

However, they did point out that they have different ways of relaxing at the end of a long day.

‘When we first got married, I had no idea that Mika watched cable news 24 hours a day,’ Scarborough said.

‘The first day we were cohabitating, I walk in and I’m like, “What are you doing?”

‘She’s flipping from channel to channel to channel and catastrophizing over what (the other) channels are saying.’

Scarborough explained that he was the ‘exact opposite.’

‘I do the show and then I’m off… You have to get some distance, get some perspective, and have a better understanding,’ he said.

They also have different habits on the weekend, they told the outlet, as Scarborough likes to relax with his son and Brzezinski likes to be as ‘productive as possible,’ which includes exercising.

The two tied the knot in November 2018, at the National Archives in Washington.

Their wedding was officiated by former US Representative, Elijah Cummings.

The interview comes weeks after their awkward exchange on the October 1 episode of Morning Joe, when they had a tense disagreement about the Democratic Party.

Scarborough said the party has so far failed to stop the looming government shutdown due to a lack of talent.

Brzezinski argued the party is dealing with an administration that’s playing dirty.
