The Russian Soyuz-2.1B Rocket Succeeds In Putting 52 Satellites Into Orbit

“52 satellites were placed in orbit today,” Bakanov said in a video clip published by the foundation, noting that all Russians can be proud that the year 2025 passed without accidents in the field of space.

The Soyuz-2.1B rocket took off at 16:18 Moscow time, where the Fregat upper stage placed the payload in the target orbit.

An hour after the launch, the AIST-2T holographic satellites No. 1 and No. 2 were placed in their orbits, and then Fregat placed 50 other satellites in their specified orbits.

These satellites included a variety of missions, including:

  • Four Gryphon satellites for imaging the Earth using optical observation technology.
  • Several satellites belonging to the Automatic Ship Identification System (AIS) of Sputnik.
  • Three “Zorki” Earth remote sensing satellites.
  • The “Scorpion” satellite developed by the “Skobeltsyn” Research Institute of Nuclear Physics.
  • Lobachevsky satellite of Lobachevsky Nizhny Novgorod State University, equipped with a hyperspectral and multispectral camera to assess the state of vegetation.
  • Four satellites created within the “Space-π” tutorial.

The Russian Space Agency, Roscosmos, announced last Thursday that the Russian Soyuz-2.1b rocket will carry with it into orbit 52 satellites, during its final launch in 2025 from the Vostochny space base.

It is worth noting that the Vostochny Space Base, located in the far east of Russia, is witnessing a series of successful launches that strengthen Russia’s position in the field of space and exploration of multi-mission satellites.
