With this victory, the Sudanese national team obtained the first three points in its career in the group, advancing to third place, before meeting Algeria and Burkina Faso, the current leader and runner-up of the group with the same balance of points (3 points), later this evening in the same round.

On the other hand, the Equatorial Guinea national team remained without points, remaining at the bottom of the standings, before its last round meeting with Algeria, while the Sudan national team concluded its first round matches with Burkina Faso.

The Sudanese national team, which won the title in 1970, opened its campaign in the group by losing to Algeria 3-0 in the first round, which saw Equatorial Guinea lose to Burkina Faso with a score of 1-2.

The tournament regulations stipulate that the winner and runner-up of each group in the six groups will qualify for the knockout stage, in addition to the four best teams in third place.
