Kevin The Carrot Proposes To Girlfriend Katie The Carrot In Love Actually Parody For Aldi’s Christmas Ad – But Will She Say Yes?

uaetodaynews.com — Kevin the Carrot proposes to girlfriend Katie the Carrot in Love Actually parody for Aldi’s Christmas ad – but will she say yes?

Aldi has revealed the first of three Christmas adverts for 2025 – leaving viewers on tenterhooks with cliffhanger ending.

The festive offering shows Kevin the Carrot, the supermarket’s much-loved Christmas character, returning for his 10th anniversary to propose to his long-time sweetheart, Katie the Carrot.

The first instalment, which will air at 8:15pm today, opens with a touching snowy scene outside Katie‘s cosy home, where their adorable pooch, Caulidog, is waiting excitedly.

Viewers may recognise the romantic scene, which parodies the unforgettable cue-card moment from Love Actually.

In the romantic scene from the 2003 Christmas film Keira Knightley‘s character Juliet opens the door to Andrew Lincoln’s character Mark as he stands outside with a series of cue cards as he proceeds to profess his love for her.

Kevin offered just as much sparkle and sentiment as he delivered the show stopping moment in the wholesome advert.

With a diamond ring glinting from Caulidog’s collar, Kevin clutches the cue cards spelling out the words every carrot dreams of hearing: ‘To me you are 24 carat. Marry Christmas?’

Kevin the Carrot, Aldi’s much-loved Christmas character, is returning to our screens for his 10th anniversary, and the supermarket has cooked up its most heartwarming storyline yet

Viewers will have to wait to get the answer.

Aldi has confirmed that two more episodic adverts will follow throughout the festive period, each promising plenty of surprises and of course Katie’s answer to the big question.

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: ‘We know how much our customers adore Kevin, and this year, to mark his 10th anniversary, we wanted to bring an extra sprinkle of magic and romance to his story.

‘This teaser sets the stage for a truly heartwarming Christmasreminding us all that love is at the heart of the festive season.

‘We can’t wait for everyone to join Kevin and Katie on their journey and see what other surprises we have in store.’

Last year Aldi’s advert opened in a festive snowy village on Christmas Eve, but it soon transpired something was going on as a black and white van screeched into view.

A series of humbug characters appeared to capture the ‘Spirit of Christmas’ before zooming off leaving the once glowing village in darkness.

Luckily, Santa had Kevin the Carrot on speed dial and woke him to give him an incredible assignment — break into the Humbug Headquarters and outsmart Dr Humbug and her humbug minions to get the ‘Spirit of Christmas’ back.

Using cunning disguises and a case with a ‘false bottom’, Kevin and his girlfriend Katie carefully avoided a series of dangerous situations and ‘booby traps’ to try and save the day.

In a truly romantic twist, Kevin is set to propose to his long-time sweetheart, Katie the Carrot, in the first of three Christmas adverts

The first instalment, which lands today, opens with a touching snowy scene outside Katie’s cosy home, where their adorable pooch, Caulidog, is waiting excitedly

It all culminated with the humbugs having learned ‘Christmas is better when goodwill is returned’.

A sweet festive poem which was narrated throughout the advert read: ‘In the darkest and coldest of Christmas Eve the festive Spirit had been stolen by thieves, the very last thing that Kevin expected, an impossible mission would he choose to accept it?

‘At humbug headquarters in cunning disguise it was a race to the vault for our vegetable spies.

‘The Peril and danger they face while inside can never be told it’s classified. Our agents look doomed would they fail or succeed, then all of a sudden the spirit was freed.

‘Even the humbugs seem to have learned that Christmas is better when Goodwill is returned.’
